There is a small mountain train station in the centre of town that links through the French and Swiss rail systems. The closest TGV station at St Gervais is just 20 kms from Chamonix, while Annecy and Geneva are also excellent rail links, each approximately 100 kms from Chamonix with numerous direct services to a variety of European destinations.
