Le Caveau is a restaurant located underground and consists of two major stone vaults. It is a historic place, built more than 300 years ago. Le Caveau was only a sheep pen on the banks of the Arve river and Chamonix was a small village called Chamouny. Le Caveau est situé sous terre et est un lieu historique construit il y a 300 ans.Le caveau n' était qu'une bergerie et Chamonix était un petit village appelé Chamouny. Le Caveau was later converted into a wine and cheese cellar until the 60's when it became a night club. It is a restaurant, pizzeria and bar since 1985. Today, they offer a large choice of dishes for all wallets : French cuisine, local specialities of Savoie, Swedish dishes, oriental specialities and Mexican cuisine. They also have a choice of vegetarian if you wish, or their pizza-baker can suggest a large choice of home made pizzas from their brick oven.
